Embodied Suffering: Gender, Violence and Health in Assam

Azim Premji University is organising a one-day seminar entitled Embodied Suffering: Gender, Violence and Health in Assam at the Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development in Guwahati on the 7th of April, 2017. The seminar will share findings of a research study (Exploring Maternal Health in Rural Assam) by three faculty members from the School of Development. In addition to disseminating study findings, the seminar will also include papers by scholars and practitioners on themes related to healthcare in conflict zones, social autopsies for research and advocacy around maternal health, domestic violence as a public health issue and a photo-narrative of maternal health in rural Assam.
