Biography

Ankur Madan is the Director of the School of Education 

Ankur joined the Azim Premji University in 2013. Prior to that she has worked in the University of Delhi, The American University of Kuwait, and Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore. 

Her Masters and doctoral degrees are from the University of Delhi in the areas of Human Development and Childhood Studies. In her doctoral work, she explored the concept of integrated education in schools in Delhi and since then has been deeply interested in the education of children with disabilities. Over the years, through her teaching and writing, she has explored the concept of inclusive education from various facets. Currently, her interest is in exploring the epistemology of inclusive education to arrive at an indigenous understanding of the concept. 

Her interest also lies in childhood studies, the representation of the child’s voice in research related to children, and in exploring adult-child relationships.
